Hello,
We are in the crunching stage for our ObonFest 2026!!!
Only a few more days!!!
Obon Festival is our biggest event of the year.
It is our major fundraiser, but more than that, it is an important, meaningful event that brings us together; together as a sangha, and together with our community - as we appreciate and celebrate our connections with our ancestors and ourselves.
This huge event cannot be done without amazing number of volunteers ... both within the sangha and from the greater Portland community, and the chairs / team leaders who organise and communicate through numerous meetings and emails.
We are overwhelmed and grateful for everyone who are a part of this. It is not just on the day of ObonFest, but from weeks prior to the event, people come in, to organize Kimono and Japanese goodies, to start preparing food items, to start taking care of the shrubs and parking lots, for a safe and fun festival.
So thank you all, for being a part of this.
Together, we can make this Obon Fest 2026 the most fun one yet!!!
