OBT SANGHA OUTREACH PROJECT
As OBT nears our 106th Anniversary, it is reassuring to see how we continue to grow in new ways. While we remain rooted in the temple’s Japanese American heritage and roots, we are definitely becoming more diverse in our Sangha membership.
The OBT Board wants to make sure we are doing a good job of serving the needs of our community, so OBT may thrive for another 100 years and more! This is why the Board of Directors feels that it is timely to touch base with our membership via a survey. The Sangha Outreach Project will take measure of the health and wellness of our temple so we may better understand what areas are working well, and those that are in need of improvement.
The Sangha Outreach Project will focus on receiving the input of our members and seek ways to strengthen their engagement and retention. Overall, we hope to achieve the following outcomes:
- Strengthen our Sangha
- Assess how to better publicize opportunities for member involvement and engage members in temple activities
- Assess outreach support and services to fellow members
We ask all active and past OBT members to complete the survey by September 30, 2009.
This fall we look forward to sharing the survey results with you, through the newsletter as well as in Dharma gatherings or meetings. If you have any questions regarding The Sangha Outreach Project, please contact Kim Kono, OBT vice president and project coordinator at membership@oregonbuddhisttemple.com or contact any of the OBT Board members.
